The Armed Forces of Malta are calling for recruits and bandsmen to serve on the Force, making a career that offers challenges and the opportunity to learn new skills, assume responsibilities, lead, and, in many cases enjoy adventure. Entry requirements across the AFM depend on the role chosen.
The common basic requirements are that applicants have to be Maltese, aged between 18 and 25 by 1 September, and be in good health.
Three schemes of enlistment are now open: Scheme ‘A’ is for those who have three “O” levels, in maths, English, and Maltese, and who will be exempted from the written test; Scheme ‘B’ for individuals who do not have the educational requirements for Scheme ‘A’, and who will be required to sit for one or all the written tests’ portion of the selection process; and Scheme ‘C’, for prospective bandsmen, where applicants may opt to enlist under Scheme ‘A’ or ‘B’ after having taken a music audition, to evaluate their musical competence before proceeding with the rest of the examination.
