Foreign Minister Michael Frendo is on his way to the Fiji Islands for talks with military leader Commodore Bainmarama, whom he meets tomorrow in a bid to get assurances for a return to true democracy in the least possible time.
Dr Frendo chairs the Commonwealth Ministers Action Group (CMAG) who met in New York earlier this month. Fiji is suspended from all Commonwealth councils after the coup of last year which overthrew the democratically-elected government.
Dr Frendo will be reporting on the mission to Fiji when CMAG meets in Uganda at the November CHOGM.
