President Starts official visit to St Paul’s Bay

President and Mrs Eddie Fenech Adami yesterday started an official visit to St Paul’s Bay, with Dr Fenech Adami visiting San Andrea and San Anton schools at l-Imselliet, and Patri Felic Sammut and Dun Manwel Attard primary schools.

At San Andrea school the President praised the teachers’ commitment to give deserved importance to sports activities and at San Anton school he saw new teaching methods which complement the attractive environment around the school. Students there are learning Backyard Habitat science and broadcasting in the radio transmission room.

At Patri Felic Sammut primary school Dr Fenech Adami had a multi-lingual experience: apart from Maltese children there are children from 27 other countries, giving the school population the opportunity to learn about different cultures.

Dun Manwel Attard school is for children with special needs who are being prepared for a future that would be as independent as possible for them.

In the evening Dr Fenech Adami was due to meet voluntary associations from St Paul’s Bay, Qawra, Bugibba, Burmarrad and Xemxija.

On her part Mrs Fenech Adami visited the convent of the Franciscan Sisters and met elderly persons at the day centre at St Paul’s Bay.

On Sunday President and Mrs Fenech Adami will attend Mass at Maria Addolorata parish church and spend time with residents.
