Alternattiva Demokratika will be participating in the European Green Party’s council meeting in Vienna between today and Sunday. The AD representatives are Harry Vassallo, who will be attending as part of his duties as a member of the EGP committee. Dr Vassallo will be accompanied by Carmel Cacopardo, who was nominated by AD to the EGP working group on the economy which is currently preparing a policy paper to be endorsed by all European Green Parties prior to the 2009 EP election. AD activist Richard Schranz will be attending a meeting of the European Green Seniors being held in parallel with the Vienna council. Former European Green Party secretary general and Green MP Arnold Cassola will also attend the council meeting.

During the three days of the council meeting, delegates will focus on two main topics: the Economy and the European Greens common election campaign for the European Parliament in 2009.

The council will welcome Greens from two countries where Greens have entered government since the last council in Berlin in March: Finland and Ireland.
