As the opera season in Gozo draws closer, HSBC Gozo Area has once again chosen to contribute towards the production of the lyric opera La Forza Del Destino, which will be staged at the Aurora Theatre.

The bank’s donation was presented to Michael Caruana, president of the Leone Philharmonic Society that runs the Theatre, by Richard Mercieca, HSBC’s Gozo Area Director. “We appreciate that such productions require hefty financing, especially when engaging top foreign opera signers,” said Richard Mercieca. “HSBC’s commitment will support the Opera’s production while contributing towards Gozo’s artistic calendar.”

The staging of the single performance on October 13 will coincide with the Theatre’s thirtieth anniversary. The National Orchestra will be under the baton of Mro Colin Attard while artistic direction is in the hands of Novella Tabili. Four top foreign soloists will take part – Anda Louise Bogza, Vladimir Kuzmenko, Mario Giossi and Nadia Petrenko.
