The woman who was found sprawled on the ground in Qasab Street, Birkirkara on Wednesday, is a 74-year-old resident, the police said yesterday

The woman had not been identified when found. She was rushed to hospital and was certified to be in critical condition. She is still being treated for her injuries. The police said there were no signs of violence on the woman.

A magisterial inquiry led by Magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera is being held.

Police investigations are still under way.
