Bank of Valletta is organising an information seminar on the euro changeover process at the Hilton, Malta on Thursday at 2.30pm. The seminar, which will be of interest to small and medium sized companies and particularly to retailers, will deal with practical aspects related to the euro changeover project.

The objective of this seminar is to assist those in business with their preparation for the introduction of the euro, with particular regard to their interaction with the banks.

John Cassar Torreggiani, Executive Head Euro Programme, at Bank of Valletta said, “It is very important that businesses start planning their cash requirements for the euro changeover from now. Following the experience of Slovenia who had a successful changeover process, it was noted that retailers needed to hold 3 to 5 times their normal cash requirements to ensure a smooth changeover”.

During Thursday’s seminar, Bank officials will be giving detailed information on cash management, sub front loading, electronic point of sale terminals, conversion and banking operations.
