Grand Harbour Marina is again supporting the Rolex Middle Sea Race, which kicks off on Saturday, hosting what could turn out to be a record fleet for the regatta.

Preparations at the Camper & Nicholsons marina are under way, and the required facilities are being set up as the boats start to arrive and occupy their berths at the picturesque waterfront.

The Rolex Middle Sea Race is a must-do event in international sailing circles, and Grand Harbour Marina is playing a part in it for the second time since 2003. It is working closely with the Royal Malta Yacht Club and Rolex to ensure that optimal services are provided to the international crew and competing boats.

The marina at Vittoriosa has around 230 berths, 33 of which cater for superyachts. During the RMSR, a number of pontoons and superyachts berths are being allotted to its fleet.

Camper & Nicholsons Marinas operates a number of marinas and is in the process of developing more. It owns 79.2 per cent of Grand Harbour Marina shares, the rest being owned by the public. Its headquarters in Malta are located at the Hilton Business Tower in St Julian’s, but it will be moving to its new waterfront offices in the Treasury at Vittoriosa in 2008.
