A Budget for young people – MZPN

Malta Independent Thursday, 18 October 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 20 years ago

The youth movement of the Nationalist Party, MZPN, described the budget measures as an investment in the country’s future because it invested strongly in youth. They were investing in education with the extension of the Junior College, the higher recurrent vote for the university and MCAST, money for scholarships and for students studying abroad.

The movement welcomed the aid to be given to young couples buying their first property and the incentives for cultural activities, including a substantial reduction in VAT for artistic and cultural activities.

It also noted the investment in youth and voluntary organisations, including in the National Youth Council, the money voted for the environment and the reduction in income tax.
