Yesterday morning at around 11.10am, a hold-up took place at the lotto booth in main street, Balzan. The lotto booth owner, a 57-year old man from Naxxar received medical treatment for shock.

From preliminary investigations police deduced that a masked man wearing a hooded jacket and armed with a gun, entered the lotto booth, demanded money and left. The amount stolen did not exceed Lm300. No clients were inside the booth at the time of the burglary. Duty magistrate Silvio Meli appointed a number of experts to help him in the inquiry. Police investigations continue.
