Multigas and Kirkop local council have agreed to continue to work together to ensure a safe working environment and a safe social infrastructure. The council has urged Multigas to consider favourably their request for the relocation of the commercial, high-pressure cylinder filling operations.

The agreement comes in the wake of the incident at the Multigas factory on 10 April, when a compressed air cylinder was ruptured during the filling process. An internal investigation was carried out, subsequently followed by a further investigation by a world expert.

The two reports were discussed at a meeting when it was agreed that a mutually acceptable and independent expert would review the reports and meet both the local council and the company.

Dr Chris Jubb confirmed that Multigas had followed good practices on the investigation procedures and has now completed his mission. A conclusive meeting was held between Multigas and Kirkop local council on the incident.
