The Broadcasting Authority (BA) fined the Public Broadcasting Services (PBS) Lm2,000 (EUR4,568.75) suspended for a year after it found the programme Bondi Plus guilty of failing to inform it about a change in the subject treated by the programme.

The 8 October edition of Bondi Plus was supposed to tackle life after death, however, it featured the Nationalist Party General Council.

The authority ordered the company to feature this decision on TVM’s main news bulletin not later than today.

In a separate decision, the BA did not uphold Azzjoni Nazzjonali’s claims that it is not given due coverage. The party claimed that the national broadcaster did not give it due coverage, both on the news bulletin as well as in a current affairs programme.

The authority said the party’s activities should be covered whenever they are of news value and that TVM should do its best to overcome its limited resources and cover it on Sunday as other parties are covered.
