HSBC Malta had a staggering response rate of 97 per cent, to its recent Employee Survey, part of a Global Survey of HSBC’s staff across the world.

With 1,464 responses from a total of 1,515 employees from HSBC Malta, and another 373 responses from a total number currently of 390 from the HSBC Global Call Centre in Swatar, the Maltese response rate surpassed HSBC Group’s 88 per cent, where 289,891 staff responded out of a total of 328,756 employees worldwide. Even the Group’s overall response rate however is considered very impressive.

“With one of the highest response rates of any country in the Group, we consider this to be a great achievement. It shows our staff care,” said Shaun Wallis, chief executive officer, HSBC Malta. “Our employees’ feedback is essential for us to understand the changes that need to be undertaken, to continue making HSBC the “Best Place to Work” in Malta, and so in turn making HSBC a great place for Customers and Customer Service.”

HSBC Malta also promised a Lm2 donation for every response to the Puttinu Cares charity that supports children suffering from cancer. Since the response rate exceeded the targets set, the Bank doubled the amount originally promised, to the amount of Lm5,860. HSBC Global also donated one pound sterling for every survey completed to this cause, adding £1,464 to Puttinu’s kitty for the children.
