A 12-year old boy is in hospital fighting for his life after a fall while playing with other children, the police said yesterday.

The police said the accident happened at about 11.45am in the limits of tal-Maqluba, Qrendi, where the boy was playing with some friends.

The boy, from Zurrieq, “for some reason” fell to the ground and suffered head injuries.

He was rushed to St Luke’s Hopsital where he was declared to be in critical condition.Duty magistrate Dr Giovanni Grixti was informed and appointed several experts to help in the inquiry.
