Thieves yesterday got away with up to Lm1,300 in an early morning hold up in Masaxlokk Road, Zejtun, after holding up a car driver.

The police said that a 55-year old Gudja man was driving along the road at around 6am when a hooded man in a Fiesta car tried to hold him up. In a bid to thwart the hold up the Gudja man took another route but was there held up by a Kia car.

The police said two armed and hooded men came out of the two cars, demanded money and fled. The Kia car was found a short time later. The stolen amount did not exceed Lm1,300.
