Maltese songwriter Gerard James Borg is one of the names on a song trying to win a place at the Eurovision Song Contest in the Icelandic selection.

It was reported on website escmalta.com that he is involved in the Manicure Project as a concept designer together with Icelandic composer Hallgrimur Oskarsson.

Borg/Oskarsson are collaborating on the song I Wanna Manicure, which was selected for the Icelandic Eurovision semi-finals. The Hara sisters who placed second in the Icelandic pop idol competition will perform the song.

Hallgrimur Oskarsson is the composer of the song Open Your Heart that represented Iceland in the 2003 Eurovision Song Contest in Latvia and which received an impressive 12 points from Malta.

Gerard and Hallgrimur have worked together in the past on a number of projects for European artists.

I Wanna Manicure is the result of some creative and somewhat crazy ideas fused together by Borg/Oskarsson, and will be premiered on Icelandic National Television (RUV) this month.

Mr Borg has co-written three Maltese Eurovision Song Contest entries and was co-writer of Lovestruck with Thomas G:son, which was disqualified after reaching the Romanian finals last year when the performers refused to travel to the rehearsal early from New York. He has also worked with Queentastic for Norway.
