Martina Callus, 12, of Gzira, is the winner of the fashion model title for Shout, the award-winning UK teen magazine. She will be travelling to London in December for a photo session which will then feature in the fashion pages of the magazine.

Shout is a fortnightly magazine which sells an average of 84,000 copies in the UK and export markets, per issue. The Campaign to Search for a Shout Fashion Model was launched in September, giving any Maltese girl the one-time opportunity to get noticed and become a model in the fashion section for an upcoming issue of the magazine.

Out of the 500 applicants for the title, 40 girls were short-listed for the title during auditions in the first week of November. The first runner-up was Bettina Pace, 12, from San Gwann, while the third place went to Pippa Muscat, 13, from St Julian’s.

Martina, 160cms tall, will travel for the professional photo shoot in London with her mother Donatelle between 6 and 7 December. All expenses are covered by Miller Distributors Limited, local distributors of Shout magazine and organisers of the search in Malta.

“We are very satisfied that we have been able to offer this opportunity which may open interesting horizons to girls with a passion for fashion,” said Emma Miller, responsible for Sales Development – Newspapers and Magazines at Miller Distributors Limited. “The very attractive number of applicants shows us there is a demand for this kind of activity which makes us look forward to be in a position to offer a similar experience in the future.”

The main sponsor for the Shout Fashion Model Search is Remington, a leader in professional haircare, shaving and grooming products. The campaign is also supported by Radisson SAS Baypoint, Franks, 89.7 Bay and Models.com. The official photographer is Ben Camilleri.
