The Nationalist Party said yesterday that though Malta Labour Party speakers had spoken positively about the Mater Dei hospital and its facilities, everything indicated that the MLP was still against it and lost no occasion to belittle its services and the professional staff there.
For instance, MLP health spokesman Michael Farrugia had attacked the professional staff who had performed medical procedures there and had sought to cast doubt about them and alarm the public about the service, in contrast to the World Health Organisation, which had put Malta in fifth place worldwide for its level of health service.
This case showed how hypocritical the Labour Party was, the PN said. What former health minister Dr Farrugia said uncovered the mask behind which the MLP was hiding in relation to Mater Dei Hospital and the improvement of health services in the country.
If the MLP wanted to be believed about the new hospital, it should disassociate itself from what Dr Farrugia had said, the PN added.
