Petrol In Malta among highest in the EU

According to the weekly fuel report published by the European Commission, Malta’s fuel prices are among the highest in the EU.

1,000 litres of 95 octane unleaded petrol cost EUR604.17 (Lm259.37) while the same quantity of diesel costs EUR609.25 (Lm261.55).

Higher than Malta, at least according to this list, is Holland with unleaded at EUR617.45 (Lm265.07) and diesel at EUR659.94 (Lm283.37). Denmark’s diesel is higher than Malta’s – EUR612.53 (Lm262.96) – but its unleaded is cheaper– EUR562.63 (Lm241.54).

The prices in the other EU countries are:

Cyprus: EUR561.33 (Lm240.98) and EUR605.76 (Lm260.05)

Italy: EUR545.71 (Lm234.27) and EUR601.48 (Lm258.22)

Slovenia: EUR474.33 (Lm203.63) and EUR526.33 (Lm225.95)

Estonia: unleaded: EUR477.61 (Lm205.04)

UK: diesel: EUR525.64 (Lm225.66)

EU average (excluding Romania and Bulgaria): EUR525.35 (Lm225.53) and EUR575.89 (Lm247.23).
