On 18 November, the Central District of the Scout Association of Malta will commemorate 100 years of Scouting at a Thanksgiving Mass being said in Santa Venera.
The event is being organised in remembrance of all those who, in the past years, have voluntarily contributed towards the ideals of Scouting within the past and present Scout Groups of the Central District.
The Central District is made up of 12 Scout Groups – Attard, Birkirkara, Dingli, Hamrun, Lyceum, Qormi, Rabat, Siggiewi, St Aloysius College, St Augustine College, St Venera and Zebbug. Some 600 scouts and six Scout Bands will be present for the commemoration. They will be coming from Groups which have been established as far back as 1913 and as recently as 1999.
