A woman tragically lost her life after losing control of the vehicle she was driving, a consequence of which the car plummeted to the ground from a height of about two storeys. She died on impact.

At around 8.45am yesterday morning, the police were informed that a 21-year-old woman from Zebbug lost her life in a traffic accident in Mikiel Anton Vassali Street, Msida.

From preliminary investigations the police deduced that the woman was driving a Citroen AX which veered off the road and plunged down a height of two storeys.

Members of the Civil Protection Department and an ambulance rushed to the scene, however, the young motorist had already succumbed to her injuries. Regional Road was closed to traffic while the wreckage was cleared.

Duty Magistrate Silvio Meli appointed a number of experts to help him with the enquiry.

Police investigations are still underway.
