Anthony Farrugia, 51, of Lija, who was seriously injured at a fireworks factory in Lija on Monday, died on Wednesday evening, the police said yesterday.
The accident happened as a result of a chemical reaction at St Michael fireworks factory. Mr Farrugia became the third victim of a fireworks factory incident this month. On Monday, Alfred Cassar, the second man involved in the St Catherine’s fireworks factory explosion succumbed to his injuries. Zaren Barbara had died on the spot when the accident occurred two weeks ago.
Another five fireworks enthusiasts had died in June when the St Helen’s Fireworks Factory exploded.
