Malta Healthcare Caterers Ltd, the in-patient food service provider for the newly opened Mater Dei Hospital, said that contrary to public perceptions it was not implicated in the reported case of suspected food poisoning in the food service for the hospital staff of Mater Dei, as reported in the media on Wednesday.
Mater Dei Hospital has clarified that the contractor responsible for the in-patient food service is different to the contractor who provides the food for the hospital staff, the company said.
Malta Healthcare Caterers Ltd, a company formed by James Caterers Ltd and Seabank Group of Companies, is today one of the largest industrial food processing companies in Malta.
The company’s activity is mainly focused on meal catering services to medical and welfare facilities, it said.
