“The government is taking the initiative in favour of families, so that each person will have a better quality of life. For this reason, strong investment in the education of children and youths is being made, while work is being carried out to increase local and foreign investment and the number of job placements and work conditions are steadily improving. Environmental projects are also taking place, and the health services are becoming stronger,” said Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi during a social activity at the Buskett Roadhouse yesterday, organised by the PN’s Women’s Movement.
“The benefits announced in the budget will create more jobs for young people and workers, and a children’s allowance is being given to everyone, while families are going to have more money in their pockets,” he added.
Apart from this, he said, the government has helped couples who were buying their first property, and was giving an increase to the elderly, while those who received a pension could now work again without losing any of their pension. The Budget for Making Families Stronger has a number of incentives for everybody,” he said.
The Prime Minister, who was accompanied by his wife Catherine, spoke about the importance of the migration, which occurred during the last few weeks from St Luke’s Hospital to Mater Dei: “Mater Dei Hospital is an answer in itself to all the doubts created by the Labour Party. Now our country can boast of having one of the best hospitals, with the best doctors, nurses and workers in the health sector.”
