Le Méridien St Julians, Balluta Bay recently launched its Christmas season with an informal event at the Ku dé Ta Lounge and Bar.

Guests were greeted with a children’s choir dressed as Santas singing Christmas carols. Walking through the lobby, guests were welcomed with the smell of cinnamon, orange peel and a concoction of spices, while the smell of roasting chestnuts wafted in from the outside terraces. Mulled wine prepared with a recipe penned by award winning head bartender Patrick Briffa was served, while Executive Chef Andy Gaskin prepared his legendary mince pies, along with cookies and gingerbread.

The Hotel Manager, Angela Saliba (pictured on right) passed on best wishes for the festive season on behalf of the Board of Directors, Management and all Staff. Dr Francis Zammit Dimech followed with a small speech passing on his best wishes.

Father Christmas walked around giving the little guests some treats. The older guests were given goody bags from Myoka. Myoka will be introducing its concept at the Lotus Spa and Health in January. Later in the evening, George Curmi, il-Puse’ entertained guests with lively tunes. Le Méridien St Julians is still accepting bookings for this season. One can choose from exciting finger food and cocktails at the Ku dé Ta Bar & Lounge, a colourful buffet at the Scirocco Restaurant, Mediterranean flavours at The Villa Brasserie – all with that special festive touch. Not to be missed is the New Year’s Eve Gala Dinner in Pisces Hall, where the New Year will be welcomed in style to the tunes of gourmet music – a mix of cocktail, latin and jazz music, followed by disco music after the grand countdown, to dance the night away until the early hours.
