Mrs Mary Fenech Adami joined the BOV Istrina Campaign 2007 and visited a number of schools as a sign of appreciation for the support and enthusiasm shown by all children and teachers in support of this campaign. She was accompanied by Karl Spiteri, manager corporate branding and quality at Bank of Valletta, and Gordon Pace on behalf of Istrina.

Some 65,000 children in schools across Malta and Gozo participated in the BOV Istrina Campaign 2007, making small donations from their pocket money to support this national campaign of solidarity.

Mrs Fenech Adami visited three schools, starting from Dr Frans Chetcuti Primary B in Zabbar. She then proceeded to visit the St Anne Primary School in Marsascala and Emanuel D. Decesare Primary B in Fgura. Mrs Fenech Adami received a warm welcome from all the children at the schools she

visited.

For this occasion, the large piggy bank that has now become synonymous with the BOV Istrina Campaign was also touring the schools.

Speaking during these visits Mr Spiteri thanked all the school children for their participation in the BOV Istrina Campaign 2007. “On behalf of Bank of Valletta I would like to show my appreciation for the kindness shown by these children. Donating a small part of one’s savings to support worthy causes is indeed a valuable and admirable gesture that should be encouraged amongst children from all ages.”

Gordon Pace, on behalf of Istrina, thanked Bank of Valletta for the constant support shown towards this initiative. The amount of money collected by schoolchildren during this year’s campaign will be announced during the live transmission of Istrina 2007 on Saturday which will be broadcast on local television stations.
