Heritage Malta Plants trees as part of the 34U Campaign

Malta Independent Sunday, 6 January 2008, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

Heritage Malta has planted a number of trees at Ta’ Qali and ir-Razzett tal-Hbiberija as part of its support for the 34U campaign.

Rather than sending dozens of Christmas cards, the national agency decided to make better use of the money spent on cards by supporting the tree planting campaign instead. A specifically designed greeting e-card was sent to recipients in Malta and abroad highlighting the fact that Heritage Malta would be engaging in a green exercise.

Dr Mario Tabone, Heritage Malta’s chairman and Dr Luciano Mule` Stagno, the agency’s chief executive attended the tree planting session at Ta’ Qali. Speaking at the event, Dr Tabone stressed the need for more awareness on culture and environment, which are closely linked.

He concluded that as the national agency entrusted with the management of Malta’s rich cultural heritage, Heritage Malta is fully committed to supporting such campaigns.
