The Sliema Philharmonic Society is presenting a musical and vocal concert by its Sliema Youth Big Band conducted by Mro Sigmund Mifsud, on Saturday 19 January 2008 at 8pm at the new Auditorium of the Convent of the Sacred Heart, St Julian’s.

Several local vocalists will perform, including Ludwig Galea; Vittorio Gauci; Gloriana Arpa; Martina Borg and Ritienne Azzopardi,with several songs among which “Let me entertain you”; “Dimmi come”; “Strangers in the night”; selections from Lloyd Weber’s musical “Phantom of the Opera”; “Crazy little thing called love”; “You can leave your hat on” and the gran finale with “Hey Jude”. The Big Band will perform as lively musical numbers “Jazz police”; “Minnie the moocher”; the theme from “A-Team”; “Magnificent 7”; “Ran kan kan”, and Cardenio botti’s Inno “Sliema” will conclude the concert.

Local television personalities Xandru Grech and Nirvana will present the show.
