Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi was yesterday presented with the book The Politics of Persuasion – an autobiography by President Emeritus Prof. Guido de Marco at Auberge de Castille in Valletta.

“Prof. de Marco’s presentation of his own book has a lot of meaning to me, both as a Prime Minister and on a personal level – especially seeing that he has found the time and energy to write about some of the times when he played a crucial role in sowing the fruits we are enjoying today, and will further appreciate in the future,” said Dr Gonzi. “It is clear that the Maltese population has appreciated this endeavour,” added Dr Gonzi.

“On a personal level I still remember when Prof de Marco, at least 32 years ago now, tutored me during the last stages of my thesis when I was still a university student, and gave me advice that has served me well - that it is important to learn how to work under pressure,” said Dr Gonzi.

Prof. de Marco said: “Indeed, I have known you since you were a student and you have always acted with integrity. Therefore, I am very pleased to dedicate the book to you with respect and esteem for your work towards giving Malta a better future.”
