During 2008 The Westin Dragonara Resort’s management will be working even closer together to help in raising more awareness in protecting the environment.
The housekeeping department has accepted the added responsibility that as of 1st January they will endure the extra effort to help save the environment by commencing the process of waste separation. The first project that has been implemented is glass separation. Each and every bin in the 340 guest rooms and suites is being checked and glass is separated accordingly and placed in dedicated skips in the resort.
This process is just the first of a series where waste separation and recycling at The Westin Dragonara Resort will take place. After glass, paper, plastic and cardboard will follow. The whole campaign will be in full swing during the course of 2008.
This is not the only project that the Westin has implemented towards the environment. During previous months the Westin has introduced the Green Room concept where guests can collaborate towards the environment by not having their linen changed on a daily basis. Other departments are also collaborating towards the environment by separating bulky refuse such as cardboard and broken equipment which is then sold for recycling.
The management at The Westin Dragonara Resort would like to thank all associates for their support in embarking on these campaigns as without their commitment and contribution these programmes will not be successful.
