Following the appointment of Bank of Valletta as the official partner of the University of Malta for the DegreePlus programme, a group of first-year University students studying entrepreneurship paid an on-site visit to Bank of Valletta’s Republic Street branch.
Ms Valerie Valente James - Head Personal Banking, welcomed the students and showed them around Bank of Valletta’s flagship branch, highlighting the various services provided by the Bank and the different functions that the branch carries out. The students also met cashiers, relationship officers and back-office personnel who explained their main duties and responsibilities.
The visit also included a tour of the Valletta Business Centre and the Bank’s training centre. Joseph Zammit, Head of Training at BOV gave a short presentation on entrepreneurship, also highlighting the Bank’s on-going investment in training and development and its commitment towards Corporate Social Responsibility.
During the first semester since its launch, the DegreePlus programme has achieved resounding success among first-year students. Bank of Valletta is working closely with DegreePlus, and looks upon this project as a good opportunity to continue consolidating the Bank’s contribution towards the development of education in Malta.
