The body of a 59-year old man was found yesterday morning beneath a wall in a field in Durumblat Street, Mosta following what police said was a traffic accident.

Preliminary investigations by the police established that the man, from Mosta, had suffered some sort of head wound. The police released a statement announcing the death and that an autopsy will be carried out today to establish the cause.

Later, the police said the man died after he was hit by a car. The driver of the car later reported the accident to the police and he is helping them in their investigations.

The man is to be arraigned in the coming days.

Duty Magistrate Miriam Hayman was informed of the accident and appointed several case to help in the inquiry.
