Bank of Valletta will be waiving all charges on internet banking for those who go to Merchants Street on Saturday, or to the Gozo Ministry on Sunday, to register under the Blueskies scheme – all those who did not have the internet at home after 1 December last year, will be able to register with the ministry.

Registration will mean they will get a new subsidised broadband service costing just e3 a month, and for families which are eligible and have a disabled person, the subsidy will be full, and broadband will be free.

Bank of Valletta believes that the more families use the internet, the stronger the information society and economy in Malta will be. Internet banking makes it possible for the bank’s clients to manage their bank accounts from home, pay bills, transfer money, seek information and apply for bank services.

The ministry urged families that do not have broadband at home to register on Saturday in Malta, or on Sunday in Gozo, to join the information society and become a member of The Smart Island.
