The Blueskies scheme of the Investment, Industry and Information Technology Ministry, has special conditions for families that, until today, still do not have broadband internet at home, and who include a disabled family

member.

The government and provider of internet services are subsidising the whole cost so that broadband internet is introduced in these families’ houses, including the e3 a month, that other families have to pay to register for Blueskies.

The government believes that a disability should not be an obstacle to the access of technology. On the contrary, technology may compensate for some of the artificial barriers disabled persons and their families may sometimes come up against. These barriers translate into a financial and unjust disadvantage, which often means these families have to choose to do without broadband internet at home.

The representatives of these families will be met during the registration activity, to be held next Saturday between 9am and 1pm in Merchants Street, Valletta. Registrations will be accepted in Gozo the next day, Sunday between 10am and 1pm at the Gozo Ministry.

People with an identity card issued by the National Commission for Disabled Persons and holders of the Kartanzjan card, will be able to use the fast track instead of waiting in the regular queue.
