Ira Losco’s new single Don’t Look Down was the first local number 1 in 2008, after sitting at the top spot of radio airwaves for three consecutive weeks. This is the second single, following the summer smash hit Something to Talk About, from the upcoming album Fortune Teller, due to be released at end of March.
“Fortune Teller is a very ambitious album. It was both musically and vocally challenging to record and it will be likewise, to play live. I’m very excited that both singles were successful on our airwaves because it shows that my audience is enjoying the energy of our new direction,” said Ira Losco.
Her new DVD Living It…, released during Christmas was being screened at the Eden Cinemas and is also enjoying success in sales. There is also a possibility that a special screening of the DVD takes place for secondary schools after exams are over. The DVD includes footage of some of Ira’s most memorable performances, videos, international collaborations, some very funny backstage band footage and brand new music clips off the upcoming album, including a video of the number one track Don’t Look Down.
The new music video will be aired on rotation on all local TV stations and will also be available for download online, from Ira Losco’s official website and on 897 Bay Radio’s website.
“Ira and the band have had a very busy and eventful year. We would like to thank everyone who has helped to make this year a success. The DVD is a clear example of the hard work everyone in the act and around it lent to this project. The number one spot is the cherry on the cake and we are all very happy about it,” said Howard Keith from Jagged House.
Ira Losco is currently taking a short break following a very successful 2007 and is regaining her energy to re-enter the studio and add her finishing touches to Fortune Teller which will be her fourth album release to date. Due to this year’s electoral campaign, there is a chance that the album’s release date might be delayed. However, this album promises to be her best work to date and is highly awaited by her fans.
