A Dutchman was fined e116.47 (Lm50) after pleading guilty to selling kitchen utensils without a commercial licence before Magistrate Michael Mallia.
Pedro Bertomeu Escoda, 28, was held for 20 hours in custody before being arraigned in court, a fact which his lawyer, Dr Martin Fenech, complained about in court.
Police Inspector Ian Abdilla prosecuted.
