Students at St Aloysius College in Birkirkara, who are in the Young Enterprise programme, have devised a product aimed to lessen the consumption of water in the home.

Young Enterprise aims to get groups to work as creative teams and become familiar with the world of commerce.

Environment Minister George Pullicino met with the group and was shown how the product works. “Aqua Clic”, as it is called, takes the form of a small aereator which is attached to taps with the aim of lessening the volume of water used.

Mr Pullicino said he was happy the students had chosen water conservation as their principal theme. This was an increasingly scarce resource, he said and it was a pity it was so taken for granted that it was neglected.
