After 42 years of service, Alfred Camilleri, known by all at Fino as ‘Fredu il-Foreman’, has retired from what might be described as a long and illustrious career with the furniture company. Starting as an assistant tradesman on the workbench back in 1965, he worked his way up to the role of foreman, a promotion he received in 1988. He learnt his trade from the founder of C. Fino & Sons, Carmelo Fino himself, whom he described as “a very just, kind-hearted and honest boss, who was always like that with all of his workers”.

“Fredu was always a trust-worthy person, working diligently as if the company was his very own. He was always faithful to the company, and respected his directors and work mates,” commented Anthony Fino, director of C. Fino & Sons Ltd, a view which was fully supported by fellow director Lawrence Fino.

Born in 1946, and married with two children, Fredu Camilleri spoke about his working experience: “Fino is like my second home. I always tried to give my best, both to my directors and fellow work mates. I did my part as well as I was taught. I will certainly miss being in a place where I grew up, learnt my trade and met so many fine people who I would like to thank for their support and friendship.”

The board of directors and all the staff at Fino would like to thank Fredu for the service he provided and wish him the best of luck.
