Hilton Malta has been awarded first prize in Category A for its commitment, despite stiff competition, by the Centre For Cleaner Technology, under the patronage of the Malta Environment Planning Authority and the Ministry of Environment.

These awards are designed to recognise and promote organisations that have made a significant contribution to environmental protection during 2007.

Category A is for Management Award for Sustainable Development, which recognises the important role of management systems approach in delivering continuous improvements in the environmental performance of the service industry.

The aim is to highlight policies, practices and processes from all sectors of the industry that are helping to achieve economic and social development while minimising the environmental impact of their operations.

As an awardee Hilton Malta has applied for the European Business Award for the Environment (EBAE)
