The Commission on Domestic Violence, in collaboration with the Vodafone Malta Foundation, held a drawing competition for students entitled A Home without Violence.

The aim of this competition was to raise awareness on domestic violence.

The competition was open to students between eight and 16 years of age. 274 Students from 21 schools all over Malta and Gozo participated in this competition.

Raising awareness helps to reduce incidences of domestic violence, contributes towards education of the public, and exposes domestic violence for what it is. The overall aim is that there is always zero tolerance towards domestic violence. It is never acceptable.

“The Commission strives to educate youngsters on the issue of domestic violence. Most of the time, it is the children who suffer most during the traumatic experiences brought about by domestic violence in their homes.

This competition was beneficial for both the children and their families and the Foundation was more than happy to lend a hand,” said Mrs Gemma Mifsud Bonnici, Chairperson of the Vodafone Malta Foundation.
