Carnival Costume Competition at the Embassy

Malta Independent Tuesday, 12 February 2008, 00:00 Last update: about 13 years ago

On Saturday 2 February the Kids Club Carnival activity was held at the Embassy Cinemas. Kids watched Waterhorse – Legend of the Deep, which was followed by the long awaited Embassy Carnival Competition, with lots of fun and games. Choosing three winners out of over 70 participants is never an easy task.

Year after year the costumes are becoming more and more creative, and the attention paid to detail is truly commendable. Many children this year impersonated their favourite film characters – Superman, Spiderman, Harry Potter, Davie Jones & Jack Sparrow from the Pirates of the Caribbean, King Kong & Transformers among others. The three winners pictured above were: 1st Place – Veneziana (Celine Borg), 2nd Place – Queen of Butterfly (Faith Casha) and 3rd Place – Pied Piper (Nataniel Agius). Winners received trophies, vouchers from Pedigree Toyshops, books from Agenda Bookshop and a hamper from Nesquick.

The next popular event at the Embassy Cinemas is Children Cinema Day on Saturday 1 March. Some of the films that will be showing on the day are National Treasure – Book of Secrets, Waterhorse – Legend of the Deep, Enchanted, Anno Domini XXXIII (a Maltese Production), Bee Movie as well as Alvin & the Chipmunks. Ticket prices are e2.33 for Children and e3.49 for accompanying adults. This event is organised by KRS Film Distributors in collaboration with the Embassy Cinemas.
