A New look for McDonald’s MIA restaurant

McDonald’s Malta recently unveiled its totally transformed restaurant at the Malta International Airport (MIA). Over and above a brand new and contemporary design, this restaurant carried various new features that are sure to make this venue even more popular with customers. The new restaurant was officially opened during a reception on 7 February. Melo Hili, Managing Director McDonald’s Malta and Mr Karl Fritz Managing Director McDonald’s Italy carried out the ribbon cutting, which was followed by an official blessing by Dun Lawrenz Zammit, Chaplain of the Armed Forces of Malta.

One of the most exciting new features of the restaurant is the McCafe. Following the success of the McCafe in Gozo, McDonald’s have finally brought this concept to Malta. This modern style coffee shop with its warm and unpretentious style delivers an added comfort to the restaurant. Its a place were people can spend some relaxing time sipping one of the variety coffees of offer or savouring a wide selection of cakes, pastries and snacks, including a variety of freshly prepared brioche, muffins, doughnuts, cannolo siciliano, cookies, tiramisu and millefoglie. Hot snacks include a choice of panzerotto, arancini siciliano and spinach pies.

In an effort to make the restaurant experience more enjoyable for customers, McDonald’s has deployed a number of additional creature comforts within the restaurant. Customers can now enjoy surfing the web thanks to the free Wi-Fi service throughout the store. Over and above all this, the MIA restaurant still features the only drive-through experience in Malta and is open daily till 5am ensuring people can enjoy a McDonald’s meal anytime they please.

Younger patrons also have a lot to look forward to, as a number of elements have been included with them in mind. The restaurant in fact features a state of the art GYM & FUN area were children can enjoy themselves to the full. This area is equipped with obstacle race track, cycling competitions and dance to the beat games. Children can also use the new outdoor play area.

It is with this spirit in mind that we are upgrading our restaurants to really offer that something extra to our customers. In the case of our MIA outlet, we feel this remodel will inject new life into this key restaurant making it more attractive, functional and appealing to our customers,” said Melo Hili, McDonald’s Malta Managing Director.
