The Diocesan Youth Commission said the government is offering a number of air tickets sponsoring young people for the July activity in Australia marking World Youth Day in Sydney.

The activity is being organised by the Church and will be attended by young people from all over the world. The dioceses of Malta and Gozo are encouraging Maltese youths to take part.

Parish priests and group leaders interested in nominating young people for the experience should fill in an application form that is available from the commission's offices or from the website www.kdz.org.mt.

To be eligible for sponsorship, young people have to be aged 18-35 and be in a financial situation which does not permit them to travel. The group or parish nominating these young people must be ready to give further financial help to the latter by providing for the additional costs involved in this experience.
