As part of their commitment to enhance the environment, and as a token of appreciation for the cooperation extended by three specific local councils, Bonnici Brothers Ltd has donated 300 olive trees to the local councils of Xghajra, Zabbar and Kalkara.
Bonnici Brothers Ltd, a leading contractor with many years’ experience in the local construction industry and civil engineering projects, has been entrusted by SmartCity Malta with the demolition of Ricasoli, Kalkara industrial area.
Bonnici Group director Emanuel Bonnici presented the trees to Xghajra mayor Anthony Valvo, Zabbar mayor Clyde Caruana and Kalkara mayor Michael Cohen in the presence of SmartCity Malta chief operating officer Chris Cole. The mayors thanked the company for supporting their campaigns by the donation of the trees, which will be planted shortly.
SmartCity Malta, the knowledge-based township, is a joint venture between SmartCity based in Dubai and the Government of Malta. Their mutual aim is that SmartCity Malta is recognised as the predominant ICT and media business-park in the Mediterranean region that seeks to assist in the creation of knowledge-based clusters within self-sustained townships. Based on the successful model of Dubai Internet City and Dubai Media City, SmartCity Malta will be an important hub in the Mediterranean.
