Following the spectacular success in December of the Montekristo Christmas Market, MK Leisure in collaboration with the Malta Culinary Association are proud to host the Montekristo Mediterranean Food & Drink Festival from Friday till Monday. This will take place in and around “The Arena” of the Montekristo Estates. The Festival is supported by The Riviera Resort and Spa, Le Méridien St Julian’s, Coca-Cola, E.C.B. and Air Malta, the official carrier for the visiting chefs.

The cookery competitions, which will be held throughout the event have attracted over 350 entries from local top hotels and restaurants. Six foreign teams are also participating. They shall be competing and presenting their exquisite selection of traditional and exotic culinary specialities, for the great enjoyment of both Maltese and foreign gourmet, together with a cooking competition, and exhibits where chefs will be competing for the “Best Dish” award.

There will also be food displays by major local food importers. Visitors to the Montekristo Mediterranean Food & Drink Festival will be treated to the prestigious “Parade de Chefs”, where participating teams will cook and serve to over 50 guests in an open kitchen style restaurant.

For this very special occasion, Montekristo Estates shall be decked out in the colourful trappings of a riotous Maltese village festa. There will be outlets serving mouth-watering dishes, wines, beverages and other traditional tasties such as qubbajd (nougat). A kids corner will be set-up together with the highly successful horse rides, face painting and the bouncy castle for children. Ample parking and a unique atmosphere have already established Montekristo Estates as the ideal venue for the family’s weekend outing.
