Nature Trust (Malta) said that the boathouses at Dwejra were agreed upon under the Dwejra Action Plan approved after a year’s public consultation process as part of the LIFE project. The boathouses were built on private land in the Inland Sea area.

NTM said it did not agree with them but it had accepted the decision of the Action Plan for the Dwejra Park. Because the boathouses were in a very sensitive area, their removal would have caused further irreversible damage to the site, where sensitive flora had now established itself.
