Court: Man Pleads not guilty to dangerous driving, injuring couple

A St Paul’s Bay man pleaded not guilty yesterday to trying to grievously injure a Tarxien couple at Valletta Street, Paola on Tuesday around 4pm.

Joseph Anthony Muscat, 33, pleaded not guilty before Magistrate Audrey Demicoli to over speeding, dangerous driving, failing to stop and give his particulars after being involved in a traffic accident, breaching the peace and insulting the couple.

He was granted bail against a personal guarantee of e1,000 (Lm429.30) and a deposit of e200 (Lm85.86).

Police Inspectors Alexander Grech and Spiridione Zammit prosecuted while Dr Joseph Giglio was defence counsel to the accused.
