Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi and his Cabinet of 12 ministers yesterday sued Malta Labour Party Leader Alfred Sant over libellous comments he made to the media.
Dr Gonzi and the Cabinet said Dr Sant’s comments, carried on The Sunday Times and the paper’s website on Sunday, were libellous and defamatory.
Separately, Dr Gonzi sued Dr Sant as he felt defamed by Dr Sant who, in a news conference aired on TVM on Wednesday declared that the Prime Minister “told a barefaced lie”.
The writ was signed by Dr Joseph Zammit Maempel.
