The Malta Feline Guardians Club is proudly presenting its 8th and 9th International Cat Shows on 22 and 23 March at the Coastline Hotel, Salina Bay. The Cat Shows are a perfect event for all of the family to attend especially at Easter time, a fantastic way to make Easter that much more exciting and memorable. After the great success of our 8th Cat Show where over 800 people attended we are even more eager to host such events which bring all of us cat lovers together. It is a great way to share our stories and learn more about our feline friends. Although a relatively new cat club in Malta, over the past two years we have hosted 8 Local Cat Shows apart from our 9 International Shows. These shows were made possible due to all the hard work and dedication of the committee members.
On Saturday the show shall start at 2pm and end around 9pm while on Sunday the venue doors will open at 10.30am and close around 6pm. Over 90 beautiful cats from a variety of different breeds will be presented at the show where they will be judged by two very professional WCF judges from Germany. The general public is also given the chance to vote for their favourite cat and which in their opinion is the best decorated cage. We consider the public’s opinion very important as it gives us, as a club, an insight of what the public prefer. Every visitor to the show is given a voucher to be exchanged at Derek’s Garden Centre plus the chance to win one of many exciting prizes.
To give the Maltese domestic cat much more importance at our shows we are holding special categories in which they will compete against each other for trophies on both Saturday and Sunday. We shall also be holding a Specialty for the Pure Breed Persians with long noses. As many of you may already know, the standard of Persians has changed tremendously throughout the ages and Persians with shorter noses always seem to do better regarding rewards. With this in mind we hope that these Specialties will give them the chance to show us their beauty and be more recognized.
