“We are disappointed in Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando’s involvement in the Mistra case regarding the building of a disco which can hold up to 8,000 people. This gives yet another blow to the government’s environmental credentials,” said Dr Vassallo.

“It is also worrying is that another Commission for the Control of Development has been appointed so fast after the previous board resigned, and after a scandal of this quality,” added Dr Vassallo.

Dr Vassallo said: “Here at AD we are like a family of brothers and what has kept us so strongly united throughout these 18 years are the discussions and debates we have had. My question to the Maltese people is: Are you following your own wishes when you are voting for this country? Some people have told me it takes courage to vote for AD, however I feel one would need even more courage to vote for a party it doesn’t believe in - one which has betrayed its people for a number of years now.”

“The vote belongs to the people and not to Dr Gonzi or Dr Sant. A coalition will take place depending on how many votes the parties receive in the election, and nobody can stop a country from becoming a normal country like a number of other EU countries such as Germany, Scandinavia, the Czech Republic, Holland and others,” concluded Dr Vassallo.
